In the Look series, the Fresh look ones really stand out because most of
them are award winning varieties. Fresh Look mix includes a range of flower colors. These include red, orange, gold, and yellow.

Seeds of Fresh Look Red celosia are available from Twilley. Seeds of the Fresh Look Mix are sold by Burpee and Harris-Garden trends. Park Seed lists seeds of Fresh Look Mix as well as the orange, yellow, red, and gold.

All of the Fresh Look celosias are pest free plants that withstand drought, heat, and humidity. They bloom throughout the summer into fall. These can be spaced about ten to fourteen inches apart in the garden.

The Fresh Look celosias are so named because the newly emerging blossoms conceal the older fading ones. The plumes are nine inches long. The central plumes open first with the side shoots bearing flowers just slightly later. The stems make great cut and dried flowers.

Fresh Look Yellow celosia was named an All America Selections winner in 2004. This is a carefree, undemanding, very floriferous plant. They reach 12 to 17 inches in height with a slightly smaller spread. The first golden yellow blossoms begin to emerge about 70 to 90 days from the time the seeds are sown. Fresh Look Yellow celosia is even more free flowering than the other colors for it is just covered with blooms. This is recommended for flower beds and borders as well as pots.

Fresh Look Orange celosia was named a Fleuroselect winner in 2005. Bred by Benary, this sturdy, bushy, round plant is basal branched and open pollinated. It bears lovely bright orange flower spikes until frost.

Fresh Look Gold celosia seeds are available from Harris-Garden Trends. Bred by Benary, this was named an All America Selections winner in 2007. Around a foot tall and equally wide, this undemanding plant prefers full sun. Extremely tolerant of heat and humidity, it is undeterred by rain as well. It is suitable for all regions. Typically reaching a foot in height with a matching width, Fresh Look Gold celosia can be spaced about a foot apart in the garden. The flowers begin opening about 110 days from the time the seeds are sown. This plant is ideal for flower beds and borders as well as pots and mixed plants. The stems make great cut and dried flowers.

Bred by Benary, Fresh Look Red was named an All America Selections winner in 2004 and a Fleuroselect Gold Medal winner in 2004 as well. It features dense, basal branching, vigorous plants that range from one to 1½ feet in height. The feathery plumes are large and wide. The large central plume is up to ten inches tall and five inches across. The color ranges from fire engine red to red-rose. The golden color of the leaves contrast nicely with the flowers. This celosia makes a great choice for bedding plants, pots, and mixed plants as well as flower beds and borders. The stems can be used as a wonderful cut and dried flower.
